Welcome to our Herbalpedia

This ingredient is found in all our Wickedly Potent!™ Soaps and Shampoos!
Potassium Hydroxide is a safe necessary agent required to make soap. There is none left in the final product.
Soap-making requires a fatty base to turn (through saponification process) into soap whether that be animal fat or plant-based. All our soaps and shampoos are made from high-quality plant-based fats that are extracted from various plants for their natural benefits and luxurious feel.
Plant-based fats are naturally abundant in minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants which in turn make better soaps. Saponification of soap requires Potassium Hydroxide (KOH), or Lye, so soaps have KOH used in the process. Soap cannot be made without lye so unfortunately, soaps and shampoos cannot be totally 100% from nature, but the other ingredients that build our soaps matter.
Some other natural brands will not include this on their labels and ingredients, instead, they have “saponification of so-and-so oil/fat.” Wickedly Potent products and remedies, however, are about full transparency.
